The Global Fashion Industry has seen steady growth over the past few years. The African continent has not been left behind as more and more young people and the nouveau niche class embrace more exotic brands. Kenya being one of the top destinations for the world’s holidaymakers has attracted a large number of Fashion Brands in the major malls dotting the country. Some of the top brands are also produced locally in the Export Processing Zones in Athi River and Mombasa.
The constant demand for skilled labour in the Export Processing Zones to meet the global demand influenced the introduction of the Fashion and Design program in 2X Education. We prepare young people who are passionate about Fashion to take up the jobs in this fast-growing sector. They go through a six-month training that includes 3-months in our fully equipped Fashion and Design class before being released for a further 3-months to the industry. After the training, the learners are free to take up any opportunities or start their own businesses.
