2X Education is a Norwegian nonprofit that empowers women and youth around the globe with earning opportunities through skills, jobs and enterprise development. Unemployment is real for young people around the world – the very same world where companies are facing a shortage of qualified talent to fill necessary positions. This growing paradox is the reason we exist. 2X Education harnesses the potential of unemployed women and youth to develop skilled graduates ready for real-world careers. Even more, they are empowered to become entrepreneurs and job creators. 2X Education offers a new way forward in responding to the challenges of society and maximising impact towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
The result? Fulfilled and sustainable communities worldwide. As a catalyst for employment, our programs are based on 3 months face to face training and 3 months apprenticeship with an annual reach of 3000 women and youth. The beneficiaries are required to show commitment during the first phase of the program in order to earn placement with our employer partners in the second phase. About 50 % of our learners are employed upon completion of the program (nearly all are unemployed prior to joining the program).
The training is offered at affordable prices to increase access for underprivileged groups. Priority is given to women who take up 70% of the available slots in each cohort.
2X Education works towards the Sustainable Development Goals
We target people with limited resources and big dreams. Bringing women and youth into jobs is one of the most effective tools to make the world a better place.
